Information packets and vaccination consent forms will be distributed to students.

The ‘Stop Flu at School’ Program, which provides free flu shots to students in kindergarten through sixth grade, is being offered at Makalapa. Vaccinating your child helps prevent further illness of other children and adults.  The Department of Education notes that “the best way to prevent influenza is get vaccinated...avoid close contact with sick individuals, proper hand hygiene, and avoid touching your face (especially mouth, nose, and eyes). The best way a sick individual can prevent further spread is to stay home from school or work, cover their nose and mouth when sneezing, coughing, and talking, and proper hand hygiene.”
