Makalapa Elementary continues to increase in the percent of students meeting the Common Core State Standards in the areas of Language Arts, Math, and Science. See how our school compares to the State and our Complex Area as well as other areas of performance based on State-identified key indicators of student success.

Our Honolulu Police Officers have observed cars parking on Salt Lake in the afternoon. The roadway in front of Makalapa Elementary is a no Parking Zone. Parents, please be aware... HPD will be monitoring for parking infractions on Salt Lake Boulevard for blocking the lanes turning in the school. HPD will be giving out warnings this week followed by citations. It is suggested that parents plan to arrive no earlier than 2:05 pm (M,T,Th,F) or 12:25 pm on Wednesdays and refrain from parking on Salt Lake Blvd.

All students not participating in the A Plus program must be picked up no later than 2:30 pm. Please have your children wait by the shelter during this time.
Parents arriving to campus before 2:00 pm are asked to wait in front of the library and to not disturb classes in progress.
